The Tallone’s Art of Old School Book Printing in Italy

Tipografia Tallone

The Book as Matchmaker Linking the Eye and the Brain

…..Elisa and Eleonora Tallone are granddaughters of Alberto Tallone, who in the early part of the 20th century purchased type and equipment made in the 18th century in order to create hand-set books. These are classics of literature that would be printed with care, sewn together by hand, and published in limited editions available to collectors. The tools of this trade have, by now, been used by 11 generations of printers, said Elisa, 33. “We love it,” said Eleonora, 34. “We grew up with it.”…….. ( by Columnist Leah Garchik)
