The third annual convention of ILT (Italian Languag Teachers’ Workshop), organized by the Italian Department of the University of Southern California (USC) aims to bring together Italian language instructors to share their work and strategies on how to galvanize interest in the study of Italian Language and Culture in the US and to increase enrollment.
A team of six experts in the field, from various North American institutions, will discuss new curricula, the promotion of Italian Language in secondary schools, the relationship between schools and universities, new work programs for graduate students in the Departments of Italian Studies, internships placement and other opportunities, such as interacting with American students. The principal aim is that all participants in the workshop will walk away with ideas and materials they can immediately implement in their courses and will have the opportunity to make real connections with other Italian basic language professionals in their field.
Organized by USC in collaboration with the IIC, on the occasion of the Week of Italian Language in the World.
